Rebuilding Together New Orleans is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee housing repair projects for low‑income homeowners. The role involves coordinating in‑house and federally funded work, supervising contractors, and developing scopes, budgets, and specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
• Construction experience as a handyperson, construction manager or project manager.
• Ability to problem solve and be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
• Lead Safe EPA RRP Lead Safe Renovator Certification encouraged.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Computer skills within a Windows environment.
• Excellent organization skills, ability to work on multiple tasks.
• Ability to lift 60 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Manage in-house and Community Development Block Grant construction projects: perform technical evaluations on residential buildings; create proposed work scopes and budgets; create specifications and contracts for professional service repairs; supervise construction to meet specifications and codes; manage contractors and subcontractors; assist in pulling and staging materials.
• Coordinate weekly logistics: work with Director of Construction, Executive Director, and Field Operation Coordinators to develop weekly schedule; plan ahead to ensure staff and volunteers have appropriate work each week; provide feedback to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate large scale volunteer builds: create prep schedule to meet DOC goals; act as a point of contact for volunteer teams when questions arise.
