GCC is delivering a comprehensive Construction Services program for the Veteran Affairs EHRM upgrades across Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Nashville and Albion Street VA Clinic. The scope covers project engineering, planning, scheduling, value management assessments, safety reviews, monitoring and testing, record keeping and cost estimating.

The engagement requires a Senior Architect/Engineer with ABET accreditation, 10+ years in design and construction of medical facilities, and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in design and construction with a focus on medical facilities.
• ABET accreditation is a MUST.
• Understanding of state and federal jurisdictions related to this project.
• Knowledge of Construction Contract Documents, Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings.
• Strong capability in engineering services, building codes, budgeting and scheduling.
• Ability to supervise and manage diverse personnel.
• Lead project construction management and provide direction on business, technical and project management, including cost and schedule.
• Must maintain daily progress and inspection reports and lead QA/QC activities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily to monthly reviews and reports, change order reviews, and schedule development adherence.
• Monitor contractor performance to meet specifications and avoid deficiencies.
• Coordinate integrated master schedules and written/oral communications.
• Provide quality assurance oversight and lead inspection teams across projects.
• Maintain references to local/state/federal requirements and ensure compliance.
• Prepare and maintain progress and inspection documentation.

Job description

The Veteran’s Administration is conducting Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades across Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Nashville and Albion Street VA Clinic (CBOC).

GCC is providing comprehensive program of Construction Services including Project Engineering, Planning, Scheduling, and Value Management Assessments, Safety Compliance Reviews, Monitoring and Testing Compliance, Record Keeping, Cost Estimating /Budget Control, and Change Management Documentation Management. The services include Quality Assurance Monitoring, and monitoring a contractor’s adherence to standards to meet the specifications and to avoid deficiencies in the work. Other requirements include the work performed daily, performing weekly and monthly reviews and reports, change order proposal reviews and schedule development adherence, and recommendations pertaining to the integrated master schedules, written and oral communications and coordination efforts as required. The intent of the services is to expand the VA’s capabilities for contract management oversight of projects and project support services for the EHRM projects.

• The Senior Architect/Engineer shall hold a Bachelor of Architecture or Engineering from an ABET accredited school and it is required that the individual have a minimum of 10 years of experience in both design and construction with a focus on medical facilities.
• ABET accreditation is a MUST
• Shall be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each in relation to this Project.
• Shall possess the knowledge of Construction Contract Documents including Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings to readily understand and assess the requirements.
• Must have the skillset and a working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting and scheduling to lead to the project’s success.
• Must possess the skillset and competency to supervise and manage personnel of diverse skillsets.
• Shall provide project construction management and shall provide decisive direction regarding business, technical and project management involving multi-disciplinary and diverse functional activities.
• Shall be responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost and schedule. They shall maintain daily progress reports and inspection reports and shall lead the inspection and quality assurance team assigned to projects to ensure timely and effective project oversight. Physical Requirements –

Must be able to carry 20 lbs. for a distance of 50 feet and be able to perform simply grasping, pushing, pulling and fine hand manipulation.
