The Construction Manager is responsible for managing all projects (including GC and larger-scale P&R, TremCares, etc). This involves working with the superintendent or technicians assigned to the project to ensure delivery is on time and within budget, as well as selecting and managing all sub-contractors. Additional duties include participating in proposals, specifications, price estimates, schedules, and sales efforts related to these projects. The role also encompasses Sales and Service Support, Field Resources, and Customer Management communication as necessary. The Construction Manager must abide by all Company policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Contribute to, validate, and sign off on all proposals and specifications across different project phases, including conceptual, design, pre-bid, and construction phases. Use of ebuilder for project documentation is required.
- Manage project cost, budget variance, and profitability.
- Ensure Quality Assurance standards are met.
- Understand subcontractor agreements and enforce corrective measures, including proper notification for non-compliance and adherence to lien waivers.
- Set project timelines and goals.
- Manage key metrics and report regularly.
- Coordinate work with Program Managers, Sales & Support, Customer Management, and Resource Management teams.
- Participate in the Preventive and Corrective Action process to address non-conformities and implement solutions.
- Review bids and conduct contractor interviews to ensure compliance.
- Approve proposals for submission, including pricing, specifications, and scope.
- Direct Project Managers, technicians, and superintendents.
- Authorize project billings and change orders.
Metrics :
- Manage proposals, specifications, and project wins/losses.
- Monitor projects for adherence to time and budget.
- Manage contractor qualifications and billing.
- Maintain Customer Project Quality Score.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of WTI products and services.
- Understand all Construction Management tasks and superintendent roles.
Communications :

- Create performance reports and respond promptly to inquiries.
- Proficient in relevant software such as ebuilder, SAP, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Projects, AutoCAD, etc.
Specification Development Stage :
- Select the WTI Superintendent for each project.
- Approve specification detail drawings and sign off on specifications with relevant authorities.
Pre-Bid and Pre-Construction Stages :
- Conduct Pre-Bid meetings, document responses, and distribute relevant information.
- Assist in planning and coordinating Pre-Construction Meetings and provide necessary subcontractor information.
- Manage and distribute Pre-Construction documentation.
Construction Stage :
- Review daily inspection forms and site visit as necessary.
- Manage weekly progress meetings and project schedule updates.
- Perform site audits, authorize change orders, and subcontractor payments.
- Assist the superintendent with construction issues.
