Job summary

C&G Consulting Services, Inc is seeking a Construction Manager (Site Safety) to oversee day-to-day construction and field activities while ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with project requirements and OSHA regulations.

You will work closely with contractors, project managers, engineers, and field personnel to maintain a safe work environment, conduct routine safety inspections, lead toolbox talks, and coordinate safety-related actions across active project sites.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities for compliance with safety requirements and procedures.

• Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and JHAs as needed.
• Identify safety concerns and work with teams to implement corrective actions.

• Review safety documentation, permits, and work plans.
• Document safety observations, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.

The Construction Manager (Site Safety) is responsible for overseeing construction activities while ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies, project requirements, and applicable safety regulations. This position will work closely with contractors, subcontractors, project managers, engineers, and field personnel to maintain a safe work environment and support the successful execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day construction and field activities at active project sites.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with site safety requirements and established construction procedures.
• Conduct routine site inspections, safety observations, and jobsite walkthroughs to identify potential hazards and unsafe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and project-specific safety plans.
• Participate in and/or lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, pre-job briefings, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Identify safety concerns and work with field teams to implement corrective actions.
• Monitor high-risk construction activities, including electrical work, excavation, lifting/rigging, working at heights, confined spaces, and heavy equipment operations.
• Review contractor safety documentation, permits, work plans, and procedures as required.
• Track and document safety observations, incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
• Assist with incident investigations and root-cause analysis when necessary.
• Coordinate construction activities with project management, engineering, operations, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, schedules, quality, and overall field execution.
• Maintain accurate site documentation, daily reports, inspection records, and safety documentation.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all personnel understand and follow established safety expectations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction management, construction safety, site supervision, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices and OSHA regulations.
• Experience overseeing contractors and subcontractors on active construction sites.
• Ability to identify construction and safety hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, project specifications, work plans, and safety documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• OSHA 30 certification or other relevant safety certifications preferred.
• Experience within utility, electrical, energy, industrial, or infrastructure construction environments is preferred.
