A leading electric vehicle technology company is seeking a Construction Manager for their new manufacturing facility in Manteno, Illinois. The role requires managing all aspects of construction, ensuring timely, on-budget project delivery. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, over 10 years of construction management experience, and fluency in Mandarin is preferred. Competitive salary range of $180,000 - $200,000 plus bonus offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of automotive regulations, EV batteries, or complex site construction is a plus.

Job description

Gotion Inc. is based in Silicon Valley, CA, currently building a manufacturing facility in Manteno, IL and has R&D centers in Ohio, China, Japan and Europe. We innovate in the next‑generation electric vehicle and energy‑storage technologies (lithium batteries and related systems) to accelerate electrified transportation and achieve sustainable development.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction of our new brownfield EV battery manufacturing plant from start to finish in Kankakee County, Illinois.
• Develop and implement a construction plan that ensures the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Coordinate with all stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and government agencies.
• Oversee all aspects of construction, including site preparation, foundation work, building construction, and installation of equipment, including the shipment and installation of manufacturing machinery.
• Ensure that all safety and environmental regulations are met.
• Manage the project budget and track expenses.
• Communicate regularly with the Chief Engineer and other senior management on the progress of the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluent in Mandarin/Chinese, ideally Native.
• 10+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years of experience on large, complex projects.
• Experience working with brownfield or greenfield sites is a plus.
• Knowledge of automotive regulations, EV batteries or energy, or complex site construction is a plus.
• Strong project‑management skills, including the ability to develop and implement project plans, track progress, and manage budgets.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $180,000 - $200,000 plus 20% bonus and benefits. Base pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range. The expected pay range is $140,000 - $200,000 USD.
