Job summary

Gotion Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver high-voltage battery system designs for EVs, working within a Tier 1 supplier environment. You will lead electrical architecture development and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust integration and validation across the powertrain ecosystem.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years in battery/EV design or validation, HV system experience, and familiarity with BMS/CAN. Occasional travel to suppliers and OEMs is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in battery/EV industry, design or validation.
• Exposure to high-voltage battery systems (400–1000V).
• Basic understanding of BMS, CAN, and automotive diagnostics.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as Catia V6 – Electrical and Capital Harness/Busbar.
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and automotive product development cycles.
• Exposure to ISO 26262, UN R100, IATF 16949 is a plus.
• Proactive and collaborative mindset with strong English communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical architecture of HV battery systems, including BDU components (contactors, fuses, FPC, CCS, sensors, busbar).
• Translate customer and system requirements into manufacturable design solutions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, and testing teams for full system integration.
• Prepare technical inputs for RFQ/RFI processes.
• Support BMS hardware integration and CAN/LIN interfaces.
• Contribute to system validation and electrical testing.
• Support DFMEA, DVP&R planning, and ISO 26262 functional safety.
• Engage with suppliers to review and qualify components.
• Collaborate with global teams; travel to suppliers/OEM sites.

About the Role & Team:

Join the Product Development Team as a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on delivering high-voltage battery systems for electric vehicles. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing team in the battery industry and contribute to the next generation of EV technology within a Tier 1 supplier environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supporting the design and development of the electrical architecture of high-voltage battery systems, including BDU components such as contactors, fuses, FPC, CCS, sensors, busbar and wiring.
2. Assisting in translating customer and system-level requirements into feasible and manufacturable design solutions.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams (mechanical, thermal, software, testing) to ensure complete system integration.
4. Participating in RFQ/RFI processes by preparing technical input and documentation.
5. Supporting BMS hardware integration and communication interfaces (CAN/LIN).
6. Contributing to system validation, including electrical testing and troubleshooting.
7. Supporting DFMEA, DVP&R planning, and functional safety efforts aligned with ISO 26262.
8. Engaging with suppliers to review and qualify electrical components.
9. Collaborating with global teams, including limited travel to suppliers or OEM sites.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical or a related field.
2. 3–5 years of relevant experience in the battery or EV industry, preferably in a Design and development or validation role.
3. Exposure to high-voltage battery systems (400–1000V) including pack or module-level design.
4. Basic understanding of BMS, CAN communication, and automotive diagnostic protocols.
5. Familiarity with CAD tools such as Catia V6 – Electrical and Capital Harness/Busbar.
6. Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and automotive product development cycles.
7. Exposure to safety standards such as ISO 26262, UN R100, IATF 16949 is a plus.
8. Proactive and collaborative mindset with strong communication skills in English.
9. Willingness to travel up to 15%, including visits to suppliers and OEMs, both domestic and international.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is 90,000.00 - 128,000.00 + 15% bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
