Qualifications

• 10+ years manufacturing experience or 5 years experience with an engineering degree
• 5+ years of maintenance or construction management and/or engineering experience
• Willingness to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
• Knowledge of FEL development, project execution, estimating, scheduling, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
• Knowledge of management of change, project controls, contractor management, and document control
• Willingness to conduct field visits and work safely in refinery environments

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between Engineering, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, Turnaround, contractors and procurement
• Ensure safety, quality, scope, schedule, budget, operability and regulatory compliance
• Develop and manage plans, execution strategies, budgets, schedules, risks and performance metrics
• Direct engineering teams and contractors and resolve field modifications and nonconformances
• Monitor progress, costs, forecasts and change management to keep projects on track
• Communicate status and risks to leadership and stakeholders
• Lead commissioning, startup readiness reviews, turnover activities and punch-list closure

One of Brunel's Major clients is looking for a contract Construction Manager, to join their refinery in Lake Charles.

The Construction Manager is responsible for leading refinery capital, maintenance, reliability, and improvement projects from initial planning through completion. This hybrid role combines project development and construction management, overseeing projects up to $10 million in value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead projects through all phases, including Front-End Loading (FEL), design, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and closeout.
• Serve as the primary coordinator between Engineering, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, Turnaround teams, contractors, vendors, and procurement groups.
• Ensure projects are completed safely and meet quality, scope, schedule, budget, operability, reliability, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Develop and manage project plans, execution strategies, budgets, schedules, risks, and performance metrics.
• Direct engineering teams and contractors while resolving technical issues, design changes, field modifications, and nonconformances.
• Monitor project progress, costs, forecasts, and change management to keep projects on track.
• Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead commissioning, startup readiness reviews, turnover activities, punch-list completion, lessons learned, and project closeout.

Basic/Required

• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
• Either 10+ years manufacturing experience or 5 years experience with an engineering degree
• 5 or more years of maintenance or construction management and/or engineering experience
