JobSummary:

Weare seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction ObservationRepresentative to join our team in South Florida. The successful candidate willplay a crucial role in ensuring that our civil engineering projects (which primarilyconsist of water, sewer, stormwater, paving and grading) are constructedaccording to design specifications, project plans, schedules, and qualitystandards. This position requires excellent observational, communication, andproblem-solving skills, with a strong background in civil engineering projects.

KeyResponsibilities:
  • SiteObservation: Conduct daily site visits to monitor construction activities andensure compliance with design plans, specifications, and applicable codes andregulations.
  • Documentation:Maintain detailed and accurate records of site activities, observations, andprogress, including daily logs, photographs, and reports.
  • QualityAssurance: Verify that materials and workmanship meet project standards andspecifications. Identify and report any deficiencies or non-compliance issuespromptly.
  • Coordination:Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders toensure smooth project execution. Facilitate communication and resolution of anyon-site issues.
  • Inspection:Perform inspections of construction activities, including grading, drainage,paving, utility installation, and structural elements, to ensure conformancewith project plans.
  • SafetyCompliance: Monitor site safety practices and ensure adherence to company andregulatory safety standards. Address any unsafe conditions or practicesimmediately.
  • ChangeManagement: Identify potential changes to project scope or design. Communicatethese changes to the project manager and assist in evaluating their impact onthe project.
  • Reporting:Prepare and submit daily, weekly & monthly progress reports to the projectmanager, highlighting any critical issues, delays, or deviations from theproject schedule.
  • StakeholderEngagement: Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, andother stakeholders. Address questions and concerns in a timely and professionalmanner.
WorkingConditions:
  • Frequentsite visits and outdoor work, including exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Abilityto walk, climb, and navigate construction sites safely.
  • Occasionalevening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’sDegree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field –Preferred.
  • Minimumof five (5) years of experience in construction observation or constructionmanagement for civil engineering projects.
  • Strongunderstanding of construction methods, materials, and standards, particularlyin civil engineering.

  • Proficiencyin construction management software and tools.
  • Certificationin construction inspection or quality control is a plus.
  • Validdriver’s license and ability to travel to various project sites within SouthFlorida.
