Coalesce Management Consulting is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support West Texas utility projects across Overhead Distribution, Underground Distribution, and Overhead Transmission. You will be the primary field representative, overseeing contractor performance, monitoring progress, and ensuring safety, schedule, and scope compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field construction oversight for OH/UG/OH Transmission projects across West Texas.
  • Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and adherence to schedules.
  • Prepare bi-weekly progress reports with status, percent complete, and photos.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Track material usage, reconcile totals, and ensure proper closeout documentation.
  • Manage and document field change orders and communicate impacts.
  • Conduct routine field inspections for quality and safety compliance.
  • Participate in project meetings and report progress to stakeholders.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support West Texas utility construction projects across Overhead (OH) Distribution, Underground (UG) Distribution, and Overhead Transmission systems. This individual will serve as the primary field representative, overseeing contractor performance, monitoring construction progress, coordinating with Project Managers, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within scope.

The ideal candidate has extensive utility construction experience, thrives in a fast-paced field environment, and can independently manage multiple construction activities while maintaining clear communication with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide field construction oversight for OH Distribution, UG Distribution, and OH Transmission projects throughout West Texas.
  • Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Track daily construction activities and provide accurate project percentage complete updates.
  • Prepare and submit bi-weekly progress reports including:
  • Project status updates
  • Percent complete
  • Field photos
  • Schedule impacts
  • Material status
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Track, reconcile, and verify construction materials throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all unused materials are returned and properly documented at project closeout.
  • Manage and document field-generated change orders and communicate impacts to project management.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities including punch lists, material reconciliation, documentation, and contractor completion.
  • Perform routine field inspections to verify work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to construction standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, engineering teams, and utility stakeholders to resolve field issues.
  • Support multiple concurrent construction projects while maintaining accurate project documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate construction progress to internal and client stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of utility construction experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Overhead Distribution (OH), Underground Distribution (UG), and Overhead Transmission construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of utility construction practices, safety requirements, and construction sequencing.
  • Experience overseeing utility contractors and multiple field crews.
