This is a full‑time onsite role performing Construction Management Quality Assurance tasks at Chaco Culture National Historic Park.

Note: Candidates must provide a comprehensive list of relevant projects performed in a Construction Manager Representative (CMR) capacity as part of their submission.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Construction Manager Representative (CMR) to oversee and support construction activities for complex projects, including work in remote and environmentally sensitive locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, federal project experience, and the ability to manage construction operations while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide construction management services on projects of similar size, scope, and complexity
  • Prepare and/or review:
    • Draft contract modifications
    • Independent Government Estimates (IGEs)
    • Daily construction reports
    • Responses to Requests for Information (RFIs)
    • Submittal packages
    • Field observation reports
  • Conduct and document progress meetings, including preparation of meeting agendas and minutes
  • Oversee general site preparation and vertical construction activities
  • Ensure construction activities comply with contract requirements, safety standards, and environmental regulations
  • Monitor contractor performance and coordinate with project stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience managing similar construction projects; must provide examples including project scope and specific CMR responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of construction documentation, reporting, and contract administration processes
  • Proficiency in project management software tools
  • Experience with vertical construction projects, including residential‑type housing units
  • Ability to manage projects in remote locations with limited construction seasons
Education, Experience, and Technical Skills
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of construction management experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Real ID or Passport in order to undergo commercial airfare travel
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work effectively in remote environments under challenging conditions
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and quality assurance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with federal construction projects
  • Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
  • Knowledge of agency‑specific procedures, including National Park Service (NPS) and/or Denver Service Center (DSC) workflows
  • Experience working in remote or environmentally sensitive areas
  • Understanding of natural and cultural resource protection requirements, including preservation of heritage trees
  • Experience ensuring visitor safety during construction operations, preferably in public‑use areas such as campgrounds
Working Environment

This position primarily operates in a professional office setting with standard office equipment and a quiet, climate‑controlled environment. While in the office, there is no regular exposure to loud noise, hazardous materials, or heavy machinery.

This role also requires periodic travel to project sites, including locations undergoing renovation or active construction. During site visits, the employee may be exposed to non‑temperature‑controlled environments, construction noise, dust, and other typical conditions found on job sites. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required during these visits, depending on site conditions. While on site visits, an individual in this role will be required to work typical hours at the request of the client or role demands.

Physical Demands
  • Sitting/Standing: This is not a sedentary role. This role requires the ability to be on your feet moving around a construction site for most of the day interacting with contractors, contractor representatives, and inspecting the construction work that is being performed.
  • Walking: This role requires the ability to move about outside in various geographic and building terrains to access a construction site to provide quality assurance services.
  • Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and ladder climbing to inspect all aspects of building construction to foundations, crawlspaces, and roofs.
  • Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
  • Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information.
  • Seeing: This role requires the ability to see, view, and distinguish all aspects of construction to ensure quality control.
  • Carrying/Lifting: This role requires lifting up to 30 lbs to transport technological office equipment, safety equipment, and other needed construction items to and from various workspaces.
