Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Construction Intern/Co-Op for a seasonal, non-exempt role in Buffalo, NY. The position runs May/June through August 2027, and is full-time at 40 hours per week with shifts varying by project needs.

Responsibilities include assisting the project team with meetings, material tracking, document control, and progress reporting, while applying classroom knowledge to real-world construction activities and learning about safety protocols and subcontractor

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college degree program; 1+ year of completed education preferred in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• Must be 18+ to work on construction sites.
• Desire to work in construction management and learn about the industry.
• Commitment to standard business hours with possible overtime.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist on active construction projects with supervision and supervision-driven tasks.
• Coordinate meetings, track materials, manage files, and report progress to the project team.
• Follow site signage and supervisor instructions; learn construction management basics.
• Relate academic knowledge to field activities and maintain professional relationships with staff, customers, and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, safety orientation, and company safety policies.
• Assist with start-up activities, RFIs, shop drawings, and submittals as needed.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and coordination with subcontractors.
