Job summary

Enerfab Cincinnati seeks a paid internship for a student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management. You will read blueprints, utilize CAD and Bluebeam for 2D/3D drawings, and help the project team produce technical and commercial documents for ongoing construction projects.

You will assist with preliminary cost estimates, manage RFI/submittals, and support project closeout activities while contributing to safety and quality management efforts.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
• Self-motivated and proactive with strong organizational skills.
• Proficient in Windows applications including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Interested in a career in industrial construction.

Responsibilities

• Blueprint Reading: use CAD and Bluebeam for 2D/3D drawings.
• Project Execution: assist team with technical and commercial documents for active projects.
• Cost Estimating: support lead estimators in developing project estimates.
• RFI/Submittal: prepare documentation including specs, drawings, and scope of work.
• Project Closeout: collect documents, review change orders, and capture lessons learned.
• Safety & Quality: analyze events to implement proper controls.

Responsibilities:

• Blueprint Reading: Utilize a variety of computer programs including Bluebeam and CAD for both 2D and 3D drawings.
• Project Execution: Works with Project Team to identify and produce project specific technical and commercial documents to aid in the execution of active construction projects.
• Cost Estimating: Assist lead estimators with developing project estimates for new opportunities.
• RFI/Submittal Processes: Provide appropriate documentation to support various departments where documentation may include specific specifications, drawings, and scope of work.
• Project Closeout Procedures: Collect necessary documents, review change orders and modifications, ensure order specifications are met and gather takeaways for future learning.
• Safety & Quality Management: Root cause analysis of any events in order to ensure proper controls are utilized to prevent any further instances.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled and working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
• Self-motivated
• The candidate must have experience in Windows applications including Microsoft Office and Excel
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to provide thorough attention to detail
