Job summary

David Weekley Homes is seeking a Construction Management Intern to support the greater Jacksonville, FL area. You will learn the homebuilding process from pre-contract to post-close and participate in warranty activities while contributing to the David Weekley Homes Way.

You will gain exposure to scheduling, quality assurance, safety, cost and material control, and customer service impact as part of a dynamic, team-focused internship experience.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a full-time college program for construction management/science, engineering, business, or related field, with an interest in pursuing a residential construction career.
• Must have housing available in the Jacksonville area for the duration of the internship.
• Enjoy tackling new challenges in a dynamic environment.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude.

David Weekley Homes is seeking a highly motivated Construction Management Intern who is passionate about learning all aspects of the homebuilding business to join our team supporting the greater Jacksonville, FL area.

Responsibilities include:

• Become familiar with the home building process from pre-contract to post-close.
• Participate in thewarranty process including processing warranty requests and customer concerns/issues.
• Building the David Weekley Homes Way.
• Understanding all functions of a builder’s day-to-day activities including scheduling, quality assurance, safety, cost and material control.
• Understanding customer service and its impact on the business.

At the end of the internship, you should be able to:

• Schedule the construction of a home from start to finish.
• Process warranty requests.
• Effectively stage punch all stages of construction.
• Proficient in Building the Weekley Way.
• Accurately analyze variances and how to reduce those variances through quality assurance.
