Job summary

Sachse Construction in Detroit is offering Construction Management Internships for Summer 2027. The paid internship runs five days per week, eight hours per day, with placement in our downtown Detroit office alongside Project Managers or Estimators or in the field as an Assistant Superintendent.

Interns will gain hands-on exposure to change management, document control, procurement, and field operations, supporting project teams on commercial, retail, and institutional builds.

Qualifications

• Course of study in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture.

Responsibilities

• Change Management tasks: assist/input all potential cost items, review and prepare change orders, process project costs and invoices, update cost reports, obtain pricing for changes.
• Document Control: process submittals and shop drawings, track RFIs, route jobsite correspondence, maintain project docs, manage start-up/closeout docs, update drawings/specs, document meeting minutes, archive project information.
• Procurement: assist PM/estimator in cost reports, set up submittal registers, maintain job log (materials).
• Field Operations: enforce safety policies, track submittals/shop drawings and samples.
