Job summary

DN is seeking a Construction Management Intern in Texas to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering and construction. You will work with a dedicated mentor to contribute to real projects and learn the lifecycle of heavy-civil construction, from conception to completion.

You will identify suppliers, assist with submittals, create AutoCAD site layouts, coordinate subcontractors, and participate in pre-pour inspections. Grand Prairie location or project site relocation may be involved.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program; Civil Engineering concentration preferred.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) required.
• Excellent communication and time management skills are essential.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
• Ability to solve problems individually and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify local concrete suppliers and prepare pre-bid/post-bid pricing for concrete/shotcrete mixes.
• Work with concrete suppliers to develop and trial batch concrete/shotcrete mix designs; assist Project Engineers with submittals.
• Develop AutoCAD site layout drawings showing cut/fill slopes, ramps, work roads, crane positions, and casting bed locations.
• Coordinate with sitework, rebar, crane, and concrete subcontractors.
• Perform jobsite pre-pour inspections with Project Engineers and Project Managers before concrete placements.
• Opportunity to visit construction sites during precast panel erection.
