Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Construction Loan Portfolio Manager I to oversee closing, risk analysis, and administration of commercial construction loans. You will review budgets, contracts, and documentation to ensure policy adherence and timely disbursements.

The role requires strong risk assessment, attention to detail, and coordination with Credit Partners and LOB to mitigate construction risk. You will review monthly draws, track lien waivers, and ensure lien-free collateral.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business or Accounting preferred with 1 year of credit analysis and/or loan review experience, preferably commercial construction in banking.
• 5+ years administering commercial construction loan disbursements.
• Ability to identify construction risks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Possess and apply knowledge of Commercial Real Estate Policies and Procedures to assigned customers and construction projects.
• Review contractor/architect agreements, budgets, and loan documents to ensure policy compliance and identify deviations.
• Coordinate review of plan, cost reports, and liaise with consultants for monthly draw requests; escalate critical issues.
• Monitor budgets to ensure sufficient funds and appropriate reserves; escalate changes as needed.
• Review equity documentation to ensure equity contribution is met; collect post-closing construction docs.
• Manage construction files and ensure proper setup in loan systems and shared drives.
