Job summary

Maynard Nexsen seeks an Associate in Austin, TX to join its Business/Litigation Construction team. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of litigation experience and strong research/writing skills.

You will participate in depositions, trials, and arbitrations, handling complex design/construction matters with national and international clients. Travel may be required; construction contracts drafting is a plus, with FAR experience favorable.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of litigation experience
• Experience in Construction Law and/or Business Litigation preferred
• Deposition and trial/arbitration examinations with possible travel
• Draft and review pleadings, discovery and briefs
• Communication with clients and ability to work with technical experts
• Construction/design contract drafting experience a plus
• Familiarity with federal contracting (FAR) a plus
• Strong legal research, analysis and writing skills

Responsibilities

• Participate in deposition and trial/arbitration examinations with travel.
• Draft and review pleadings, discovery and briefs.
• Work with high-level technical experts on complex matters.
• Participate in multi-week trials/arbitrations.
• Manage document activity per firm/client policies.
• Communicate with clients to develop relationships.
