Job summary

First Federal Bank of Kansas City seeks an experienced Construction Lending Assistant to support processing, closing, budgets, draws, and related tasks. You will help prepare payoff quotes, manage draw workflows, and assist with loan setups in our construction management system.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and a background in construction loan processes within a financial institution.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years in a financial institution, loan setup experience.
Minimum two years in Construction Loan Department or equivalent construction loan experience.
Federal regulations training completed on an ongoing basis.
Strong attention to detail with ability to read and interpret documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient math ability.
Typing speed of 45 WPM and word processing experience.

Responsibilities

Promote and deliver quality internal and external customer service.
Communicate effectively with branch personnel, buyers, sellers, and title companies regarding loans in process.
Comply with banking laws, policies and federal regulations.
Manage draw processes: validate, issue checks, wire funds, and meet timelines.
Request and maintain W9s for vendors for IRS reporting.
Prepare payoff quotes and perform payoffs; record releases as required.
Generate monthly construction reports for management as needed.
Assist in loan setups and construction budgets in system tools.
