Job summary

We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, seeks a Construction Lead (Building Mechanic) for West Allis and Appleton, WI. Provide a full range of civil and building construction, repair, renovation, remodeling, and maintenance for company properties and substations.

Responsibilities include site layout, concrete and masonry work, rough carpentry, steel fabrication, heavy equipment operation, and interpreting drawings.

Qualifications

• Journeyman status in carpentry or masonry, or 5+ years of hands-on carpentry/masonry in the last 10 years.
• Valid driver’s license; must obtain CDL.
• State certification in structural welding within 180 days.
• Position requires CDL; CDL is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Site layout and related surveying.
• Concrete and masonry work.
• Rough carpentry.
• Steel fabrication and installation.
• Heavy equipment operation.
• Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Assist electricians in grounding and wiring tasks.
• Install underground conduit and manholes.
• Install and repair doors, windows, walls, ceilings, and finishes.
• Major construction and facility additions.
• Maintenance and repair of substations and company properties.
