Qualifications

  • J.D. from ABA-accredited law school.
  • 7+ years of litigation experience.
  • Strong deposition, dispositive motion, and trial-preparation experience.
  • Experience with arbitration and mediation.
  • E-discovery experience required.
  • Construction litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with delay/disruption claims or breach of contract matters is a plus.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

  • Taking and defending depositions.
  • Drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
  • Preparing matters for arbitration, mediation, and trial.
  • Managing e-discovery.
  • Developing litigation and resolution strategies.
  • Advising clients on risk management and potential claims.

  • Coordinating with local counsel and experts.

Job description

Our growing national law firm client is seeking a Senior Construction Litigation Attorney to join a sophisticated construction practice representing clients across the full lifecycle of complex construction disputes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator who wants substantial responsibility, national-level matters, and the ability to take a leading role in strategy, client counseling, dispute resolution, and trial preparation.

The firm is open to Senior Associate and Counsel candidates.

Role Overview

The attorney will represent construction industry clients in a broad range of disputes and advisory matters, including:

  • Bid protests
  • Claim preparation and presentation
  • Delay and disruption claims
  • Breach of contract claims
  • Mediations and arbitrations
  • Complex litigation and appeals
  • Risk management and pre-litigation strategy

The attorney will also be responsible for evaluating and managing significant disputes on a national basis.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Taking and defending depositions

Candidate Profile
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Experience with arbitration and mediation
  • E-discovery experience required
  • Construction litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with delay/disruption claims, payment disputes, or breach of contract matters is a plus
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Ability to independently manage sophisticated matters while collaborating with a broader team
  • Strong client-management and strategic judgment skills
