Job summary

CES Consulting, LLC is seeking Construction Laborers and Truck Drivers to support our Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach projects. You will perform excavation support, trenching, backfilling, and site prep for foundations, signs, light poles, and signals, while maintaining safety and housekeeping on active sites.

The role requires tolerance for outdoor work in all weather, ability to work around heavy equipment and traffic, and reliability in following safety procedures. CDL may be preferred.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
• Experience around heavy equipment and high-traffic work zones.
• CDL preferred; willingness to obtain is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform flagging and traffic closures as assigned.
• Clean and prepare sites; dig trenches and remove debris.
• Install erosion and sediment controls and ensure safety.
• Support excavation tasks, mixing grout, drilling assistance.
• Wear PPE and follow safety policies on site.
• Maintain positive relations with clients and teammates.

CES is also a VDOT pre-qualified contractor specializing in the construction of interstate and roadway lighting, overhead and ground-mounted signs, traffic signals, electrical work ITS, and roadway construction.

We seek to hire several Construction Laborers/Truck Drivers to support our clients in the Hampton Roads/Virginia Beach area.

Position Summary:

T he primary skills required include excavating, hand digging, and backfilling to install foundations for ground mounts and overhead signs, structures, light poles, traffic signals, and junction boxes. Other typical laborer activities associated with the support of excavation include but are not limited to mixing grout, tieback fabrication, drilling assistance, digging trenches, cleaning up debris, and other duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform flagging, traffic closures, and relevant tasks as assigned.
• Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials.
• Installation of erosion and sediment controls (i.e., silt fence, super silt fence, gutter buddies, etc.).
• Must be willing to perform manual labor-related tasks to support projects.
• Must wear approved safety boots or shoes, long pants, and four-inch sleeves on shirts. PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, class 3 vests, and gloves) is required and will be provided.
• Work on a variety of tasks within any given day.
• Ensure the company’s health and safety culture, policies, and requirements are met.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients and co-workers.

Education, Certifications, and Experience:

• Work in outdoor environments in all seasons.
• Be comfortable working alongside heavy equipment, high-speed traffic, and communicating with operators, workers, and pedestrians.
• Be comfortable working at heights and confined spaces with safety equipment and training.
• Moderate to heavy lifting (over 50 pounds), pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and squatting daily.
• Experience with picks, shovels, power tools, and air tools for excavation
• Must be reliable.
• Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening.
• Class A CDL highly preferred.
