Job summary

Ivanhoe Electric Inc. is seeking a Construction Laborer to support mine-site construction activities, assisting skilled trades, preparing work areas, loading materials, and operating basic tools. The role emphasizes safety and efficiency on site in various weather conditions.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to lift up to 50 pounds, follow instructions, and work as part of a team under MSHA/OSHA safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous construction or general labor experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site preparation, and cleanup activities.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment as trained.
• Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth.
• Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades.
• Remove debris and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Follow project plans, instructions, and safety procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Report safety hazards, incidents, or equipment issues to supervisors.
• Attend safety meetings and comply with all company safety policies and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
