Qualifications

  • Previous construction or general labor experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with site preparation, and cleanup activities.
  • Load, unload, transport, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment as trained.
  • Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth.
  • Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades.
  • Remove debris and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Follow project plans, instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Report safety hazards, incidents, or equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Attend safety meetings and comply with all company safety policies and MSHA/OSHA regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Construction Laborer performs a variety of physical tasks to support construction activities on the mine site. This position is responsible for assisting skilled tradespeople, preparing and cleaning work areas, loading and unloading materials, operating basic tools and equipment, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently.

  • Must be able to use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and work boots
  • Exposure to noise, dust, vibrations, and varying weather conditions.
  • May require overtime, weekend, or extended work hours based on project demands
