Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking a Laborer in Decatur, AL to assist skilled construction workers on site. The role is non-exempt and reports to the Foreman, with duties assigned according to specific procedures and project needs.

Essential qualifications include a high school education or equivalent, ability to follow instructions, and a post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation. On-site safety rules and PPE are required, and Turner Industries is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions without being distracted.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Digs, spreads and levels dirt and gravel.
• Lifts, carries, and holds building materials, tools, and supplies.
• Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas.
• Mixes, spreads, or pours concrete, asphalt, gravel, or other materials.
• Joins, wraps, and seals sections of pipe.
• Performs a variety of non-machine tasks such as removing forms from set concrete, filling expansion joints with asphalt, placing culvert sections in trench, etc.
• Spends time on one job or may be transferred from task to task as the project progresses to completion.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
