Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies is seeking a Laborer to perform general tasks at construction sites, assist other craft workers, and support safety programs. The role requires basic labor experience, ability to read plans, and adherence to site safety rules. On-site work with potential for varied shifts and physical labor in outside conditions.

Preferred NCCER credentials and willingness to participate in pre-job safety planning, with commitment to quality work and timely project completion.

Qualifications

• 0-2000 hours (0 ‐ 1 years) of experience working as a laborer or in any construction craft as a helper.
• Must have all necessary tools (see Laborer tool list).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate hand (i e hammer, screwdriver, broom, sledge hammer) and power tools (i e sand blasting equipment, grinders, hand compactors) to perform a variety of functions including, but not limited to, digging, spreading and leveling dirt and gravel, using pick, shovel and wheelbarrow.
• Lift, carry, hold and move building materials, tools, and supplies.
• Clean tools, equipment, material, and work areas; mix, pour and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
