Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. in North Canton, OH is seeking an Equipment Associate (Matting Solutions) to perform labor tasks supporting our service capabilities. This role supports our right-of-way access projects, from pipelines to civil work, under the United Rentals team.

You will install erosion controls, drive stakes, spread seed and lime, and keep sites safe and clean. The position requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, construction experience, and willingness to travel with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write fluently in English.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 1+ year of experience in construction and knowledge of safety hazards.
• Excellent physical stamina: strength, balance, mobility, dexterity and lifting heavy equipment.
• Frequent use of hand tools: power tools, chop saws, grinders.
• Read and interpret Access and Construction Plans (preferred).
• Travel out of town during the week or weekends, extensive overtime.

Responsibilities

• Install erosion and sediment control devices
• Drive wood stakes into the ground with sledgehammers
• Apply grass seed, fertilizer and lime to work areas; apply straw blanket and straw to restored ground areas
• Clean track equipment, sweep and shovel mud and debris off of construction roads and right-of-way accesses
• Install T-post and safety fencing
• Install geo-textile fabric below aggregate installations
• Load and unload construction material and tools
• Spot heavy equipment while in operation
