Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, is seeking an Equipment Associate (Matting Solutions) to perform labor tasks supporting our service capabilities. Formerly YAK ACCESS, Matting Solutions is now part of United Rentals.

You’ll install erosion control devices, drive stakes, load materials, and assist with site work on right-of-way projects. This role requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel; safety is a priority and overtime is

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in construction or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret basic plans and drawings (preferred).
• Strong physical stamina and mobility for labor tasks.

Responsibilities

• Install erosion and sediment control devices.
• Drive wood stakes into the ground with a sledgehammer.
• Apply grass seed, fertilizer and lime to work areas; manage straw blanket placement.
• Clean track equipment and clear mud from roads and rights-of-way.
• Install safety fencing and geo-textile fabric where needed.
• Load and unload construction materials and tools.
• Spot heavy equipment while in operation.

What You’ll Do

• Install erosion and sediment control devices
• Drive wood stakes into the ground with sledgehammers
• Apply grass seed, fertilizer and lime to work areas; apply straw blanket and straw to restored ground areas
• Clean track equipment, sweep and shovel mud and debris off of construction roads and right-of-way accesses
• Install T-post and safety fencing
• Install geo-textile fabric below aggregate installations
• Load and unload construction material and tools
• Spot heavy equipment while in operation

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, ability to read and write fluently (English)
• Valid driver’s license
• 1+ year(s) of experience in construction and knowledge of safety hazards of construction projects
• Excellent physical stamina: strength, balance, mobility, dexterity and lifting heavy equipment
• Frequent use of hand tools: power tools, chop saws, grinders and others
• Skill in reading and interpreting Access and Construction Plans (preferred)
• Travel out of town during the week or weekends, extensive overtime

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures
