Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is hiring a General Laborer in Madison, MS. You will perform labor tasks across our service capabilities, from site prep to material handling, and support erosion control and restoration activities.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and 1+ year in construction with strong safety awareness. Travel and long hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write fluently (English).
• 1+ year of construction experience and knowledge of safety hazards.
• Excellent physical stamina and lifting ability.
• Frequent use of hand tools and power tools.
• Read and interpret access and construction plans (preferred).
• Willingness to travel out of town during the week or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Install erosion and sediment control devices.
• Drive wood stakes into the ground with sledgehammers.
• Apply grass seed, fertilizer and lime; straw blankets on restored areas.
• Clean track equipment and remove mud and debris from roads and accesses.
• Install T-posts, safety fencing, geo-textile fabric, and unload materials.
