Job Duties Include

1. Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in commercial construction projects; tasks include preparing surfaces for concrete, exterior paving, sidewalk, tilt wall, etc.
2. Lubricate and clean machinery, equipment, and tools.
3. Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, and other temporary structures.
4. Build and position forms for pouring concrete and dismantle forms after use, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts.
5. Dig trenches and level earth to meet grade specifications, using pick, shovel, and rake.
6. Shovel bituminous concrete into construction areas.
7. Finish concrete surfaces by grinding, scraping, sanding, or polishing using abrasive tools or machines.
8. Mix concrete, mortar, and grout.
9. Operate pressure washers and sprayers.
10. Cut lumber to specified dimensions and drill holes in lumber.
11. Use plumb bobs, sighting rods, and other equipment to establish reference points and lines.
12. Align, straighten, plum, and square form for installation.
13. Drive vehicles with capacities under 26,000 GVW if required.
14. Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment, including checking gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes.
15. Report accidents or other traffic and transportation situations.
16. Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and securing the site daily.
17. Signal equipment operators for machinery alignment, movement, and adjustments.
18. Handle materials and manage storage.
19. Load and unload trucks.

Job Requirements

• Experience is preferred but not required.
• Able to pass a drug test.
• Capable of moving materials and equipment weighing over 50 pounds.
• Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs, and occasional crawling and twisting.
• Follow instructions from foreman/superintendent.
• Adhere to safety rules and maintain a safe, clean environment.
