Job summary

MidAmerica Basement Systems in Davenport, IA is seeking a construction assistant who can travel and work with hand and power tools to help install basements and drive quality, efficiency, and safety on every project.

You will stand for long periods, lift 40–70 pounds, work in all weather, and occasionally Saturdays. We offer hourly pay with overtime, paid training, and a supportive culture focused on growth and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel regularly and overnight as required.
• Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
• Familiarity with operating hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Travel out of town and overnight as needed.
• Operate hand and power tools to support project work.
• Keep job sites clean and materials/equipment stored properly.
• Stand and walk up to eight hours per day; climb stairs while carrying 40–70 lbs.
• Occasionally work Saturdays; perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to travel out of town and overnight regularly
• Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions
• Has basic understanding and skill in operating hand tools and power tools
• Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and ability to drive for the company
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Cleans job site at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored
• Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials and products weighing between 40 and 70 pounds
• Must be able to work some Saturdays when needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; prior construction experience preferred, general familiarity with hand and power tools required.
