Job summary

We’re seeking a motivated and dependable Laborer to join our hardworking team! As a Construction Laborer, you’ll be an integral part of our projects, helping with a variety of tasks including site preparation, landscaping, and general labor, on active restoration sites across your region. That may include wetlands, streambanks, prairies, or stormwater facilities. You’ll work alongside a skilled crew, contributing to projects that make a tangible impact. Experience installing erosion and sediment control measures on stream restoration, stormwater, utility, or heavy civil construction projects is required.

This position requires weekly travel throughout the Southeast, with overnight stays typically occurring Monday through Friday based on project location.

A Day in the Life

No two days are exactly the same, but here's a glimpse into what your day‑to‑day might look like:

Morning Kickoff
  • Start your day by reviewing detailed work specifications and plans for the day’s tasks.
  • Conduct safety checks on all tools and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and readiness.
Tool Operation
  • Operate a variety of tools, including power tools like drills and circular saws, as well as landscape equipment like chainsaws and weed eaters, to perform critical tasks on‑site.
Hands‑On Erosion Control
  • Work hands‑on to implement erosion and sediment control measures, following detailed specifications to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Seeding, mulching and matting
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining traffic control systems to ensure safety around the work area
  • Set‑Up and maintenance of bypass water pumping & work area dewatering
End‑of‑Day Wrap‑Up
  • Clean and store tools and equipment, ensuring everything is ready for the next day.
  • Review completed tasks with your supervisor to confirm everything meets the required standards and specifications.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Capable of walking over uneven surfaces, climbing on construction equipment, and navigating hills.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level.
