Job Title: General Laborer
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Construction Job Site) TSMC
Schedule: Varies based on project needs; overtime and weekend work may be required
Travel: Limited
Summary: The General Laborer supports construction site operations by assisting project managers, supervisors, and skilled trades with a variety of manual labor and material handling tasks. Responsibilities include site preparation, receiving and staging materials, operating basic equipment, maintaining a clean and safe worksite, and assisting with general construction activities. This role requires attention to safety, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced construction environment while following company policies and safety procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conduct inspections of material handling equipment (MHE) and vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming materials and shipments.
- Pick, stage, and prepare outbound deliveries accurately.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual material handling tasks as required.
- Assist with site preparation activities, including staging and moving materials.
- Operate basic hand and power tools as needed.
- Perform general labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying materials, and assisting with installation activities.
- Support the setup and dismantling of temporary structures and equipment.
- Assist with demolition and basic carpentry tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite by removing debris and hazardous materials.
- Work in permitted and non‑permitted confined spaces when required by job tasks and follow all applicable safety procedures.
- Maintain required onsite permits and documentation as directed.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and skilled trades personnel.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and site safety protocols, including required PPE.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior construction experience required, including the ability to work in physically demanding outdoor environments and extreme summer temperatures.
- Minimum 1 year of telehandler or similar material handling equipment experience in a construction setting.
- Ability to work at heights and properly utilize fall‑protection equipment, including harnesses and SRLs.
- Ability to document and report back to supervisor.
- At least 1 year of forklift operation experience.
- Ability to safely perform heavy lifting and manual labor tasks.
- Familiarity with construction hand tools and power tools.
- Experience with material inspections and quality checks preferred.
- Ability to operate an electric pallet jack.
- Strong attention to detail when handling and staging materials.
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented construction environment.
- Ability to work the required schedule, including built‑in overtime and Saturday shifts when needed.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Verbal communication skills in Mandarin or Spanish.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
Additional Requirements:
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
