Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana in Muncie is seeking a Building Construction Work-Study Assistant to support lab operations, safety, and instructional activities. The role helps maintain laboratories, assist faculty, and provide students with practical experience in building construction.

The position is student employment, up to 20 hours per week, requiring current enrollment and eligibility for work-study.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a student.
• Eligible for student employment and/or Federal Work-Study funding.
• Interest in Building Construction or Construction Technology.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently while taking direction from faculty and program leadership.
• Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff and fellow students.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and professional laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain Building Construction labs.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and orderly.
• Inventory tools, equipment, and materials.
• Prepare labs and materials for classes and demonstrations.
• Set up and break down instructional activities.
• Monitor safety and PPE usage.
• Support special program projects as needed.
