Qualifications

  • Three or more years of inventory control experience.
  • Proficient with inventory management software and MS Office.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, especially underground utilities, sitework, and earthwork.
  • Familiarity with inventory software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials.
  • Safely transport materials using forklift or equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and address variances.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling to prevent damage.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder points.
  • Analyze data to forecast needs and prevent stockouts.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing Manager to support procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Job Title: Inventory Control Coordinator

Department: Finance Department

Reports To: Purchasing Manager

FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

Job Type:Full-time; Hourly Rate (TBA)

Shift:8-hour shift, Monday to Friday, Occasional Saturday

SUMMARY

We are looking for a Construction Inventory Coordinator to manage the receiving, issuing, tracking, and organization of materials used across our heavy civil construction operations. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring materials are available when our crews and projects need them.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both an inventory/warehouse environment and around construction materials. Experience with materials related to underground utilities, sitework, earthwork, concrete, asphalt, or paving is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive, inspect, and verify quantity and quality of the incoming materials and supplies.
  • Able to safely transport material by using a forklift, heavy equipment or a vehicle.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and transactions.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or loss.
  • Update/ monitor inventory level and reorder in material management program.
  • Analyze inventory data to forecast future needs and prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Manage inventory control procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and delivery coordination with suppliers.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Manager to provide inventory-related information and support.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and address any inventory-related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least three (3) years of experience in inventory control.
  • Proficient in computer use, including inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, particularly those used in underground utility, sitework, and earthwork projects.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software.

  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.

  • Typical working hours are 7:00 am – 5:30 pm (40-50 hours per week), with occasional overtime as needed to meet project deadlines and inventory demands.
