Job summary

Kittle Property Group is seeking 2 Construction Interns to support on-site and preconstruction work across Fort Worth, Sequin, and San Antonio. You’ll collaborate with the office and field teams to source quotes, manage docs, and assist with safety and scheduling.

Students currently enrolled in a 4-year Construction program with strong MS Office and clear written/verbal communication fit well. A proactive, team-oriented attitude is essential; a paid apartment option may be available if travel is

• Solid knowledge of construction practices, technology, equipment, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Preconstruction team in sourcing quotes for vendors, subcontractors and materials.
• Perform data entry using various programs and format material as required.
• Help maintain the purchasing vendor database.
• Assist with bids, files, and documents.
• Phone contractors about bidding and contract adjustments.
• Help qualify chosen subcontractors.
• Assist day-to-day management of project operations and site safety compliance.
• Interface with staff, contractors, vendors and other stakeholders.
• Maintain daily work documentation and project paperwork.
• Ensure adherence to the schedule and expediting subcontractors as needed.
• Assist with on-site supervision with the project superintendent.

Looking for 2 Construction Interns who may be working on projects in:

• Fort Worth
• Sequin
• San Antonio

$15/hour

Candidates may qualify for paid apartment by KPG if location is too far for daily travel.

Position Summary

A successful construction intern candidate is passionate about construction, detail oriented, curious, team focused, fun, hard-working, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done right. You will work in unison with the office and onsite construction team to ensure that a full range of construction activities are completed successfully and efficiently. The level of involvement will depend on specific project needs, needs of the onsite team, and your individual abilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist Preconstruction team in sourcing quotes for new vendors, subcontractors and materials.
• Perform data entry using various computer programs, spreadsheet or database commands and format material as required.
• Help maintain the purchasing vendor database
• Will be responsible for a bids, files, and documents.
• Phone polling contractors about bidding, adjustments to contracts, and returning contracts.
• Help qualify chosen Subcontractors.
• Assist in the day-to-day management of overall project operations, people, and processes to help in learning all facets of the construction industry.
• Vigilant cost containment, risk management, and ensuring the safety of all on site; ensure full compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA regulations
• Help to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Interface effectively with staff, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders
• Assist with maintenance of all daily work documentation and other project paperwork, submitting all as required on a timely basis
• Ensure adherence to the schedule, expediting subcontractors and suppliers as required
• Supervise onsite construction activities in conjunction with the project superintendent and, if applicable, project engineer
• Explore other areas of interest to learn more about the general operations of KPG and the many departments that will be supplemental to the learning experience

Education/Knowledge Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a 4-year Construction Program
• Basic knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, etc.) as well as an understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities

Required Skills

• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
• Strong written and verbal skills. Ability to read, write, and interpret reports, manuals, and correspondence. Ability to effectively present to groups of people including employees, subcontractors, and vendors
• Self-starter with a proactive approach who can adapt easily to a fast-paced environment
• Effective multitasking while remaining detail oriented
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team of professionals
• Knowledge of Project Management Software, ProCore, is a plus

Physical Demands

• Rarely must sit.
• Occasionaly must use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands/arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend or lift 75 pounds.
• Regularly must stand, walk, talk and hear.
• Close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus are required.

Work Environment

• Normally works in an environment with loud noise.
• Rarely must work in humid conditions, near fumes/airborne particles, near toxic/caustic chemicals, near risk of electric shock and around vibration.
• Occasionaly must work near moving mechanical parts and in high/precarious places.
• Regularly must work in outdoor weather conditions.

Travel

• Traveling to different job sites may be part of this internship. Expenses will be covered by the company.
