Job summary

Whiting-Turner Co is offering an internship for undergraduates to gain hands-on experience in the construction field. Interns will work across office and job sites, with the possibility of relocation to remote sites.

Assignments include quantity take-off, layout, shop drawing reviews, submittal reviews, RFIs, and coordination with owners, architects, and subcontractors. Housing may be provided in certain situations.

• Open to undergraduate students seeking hands-on experience in the construction field.

Responsibilities

• You will be learning the engineering and technical aspects of the project both in the field and in the office.
• Your experience will include quantity take-off, layout, shop drawing review and maintenance of logs.
• Review and maintenance of logs for submittals and RFIs; assistance with scheduling, budgeting and project management.
• Interfacing with subcontractors and suppliers; attending weekly progress meetings.
• Assist with coordinating work between owner, architect and subcontractors and with reviewing construction documents.
