Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Intern to gain hands-on experience in the construction field in Charlotte, NC. This 10–12 week program combines office and job-site exposure, with 40-hour weeks and potential housing in certain situations.

Interns will assist project teams from bidding to final completion and report to project managers or field engineers. Assignments include quantity take-off, layout, RFI reviews, submittal logs, coordination with owners and subcontractors,

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student seeking hands-on construction experience.
• Willingness to work both in office and on-site environments.
• Ability to support project teams from bid to final completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity take-off and layout tasks.
• Review and maintain shop drawings and logs.
• Review submittals and maintain project logs.
• Review RFIs and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Assist with coordination among owner, architect and subcontractors.
• Support scheduling, cost estimating, value engineering and safety activities.
