Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in Maryland is seeking an undergraduate Construction Intern (Finance) to gain hands-on experience across bidding to final completion.

Assignments include both office and job-site work. The role involves learning engineering tasks such as quantity take-off, layout, preconstruction surveys, and log maintenance while supporting project teams.

Housing may be provided in certain situations and the program runs 10-12 weeks at 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Candidates pursuing a Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline, engineering technology or construction management, construction technology.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with quantity take-off
• Support layout and preconstruction surveys
• Review shop drawings and logs
• Assist with RFIs and submittals
• Coordinate with owner, architect and subcontractors
• Attend weekly progress meetings
• Assist with cost estimates and scheduling
• Support field documentation and project closeout

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology or construction management
