Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an undergraduate student intern to gain hands-on experience in the construction field. You will assist project teams across bidding, preconstruction, and field activities, gaining exposure to both office and job-site environments.

Assignments include quantity take-off, layout, surveys, shop drawing reviews, and coordination with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduate students seeking hands-on experience in construction.
• Qualified applicants will assist project teams from bidding to final completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity take-off and layout.
• Support preconstruction and as-built surveys.
• Shop drawing review and maintenance of log.
• Submittal review and RFIs with log maintenance.
• Interfacing with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend weekly progress meetings.
• Assist with coordinating work between owner, architect and subcontractors.
• Assist with reviewing construction documents and specifications.
• Assist with cost estimates, scheduling, value engineering and constructability surveys.
• Assist with permit process and project closeout.
