Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is offering an internship to open-minded undergraduate students eager to gain hands-on experience in the construction field. Interns will assist project teams across bidding, planning, and execution phases, including both office and job-site activities.

Responsibilities will cover quantity take-off, layout, surveys, drawings review, log maintenance for submittals and RFIs, and collaboration with subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduate students seeking hands-on practical experience in construction.
• Qualified applicants will assist project teams in managing construction projects through all phases from bidding to completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity take-off, layout, and preconstruction surveys.
• Review shop drawings and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs.
• Coordinate with owner, architect, and subcontractors; attend weekly progress meetings.
• Support with cost estimation, scheduling, and project management tasks.
• Assist with permits, change orders, and closeout documentation.
