Construction Inspectors (Remote Site Locations) (Biotech)

GPI has immediate openings for highway and bridge construction inspectors to work on major/minor KYTC projects in the Louisville/Frankfort/Shepherdsville area. Positions range from entry-level to senior-level inspectors.

The ideal candidate should be motivated, able to work independently, and collaborate with the GPI/KYTC Project Team. Candidates must be available to work the contractor's hours, including day or night shifts and weekends, as necessary for project completion. GPI offers a competitive salary based on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily inspections and observations of contractor work for highway and bridge projects, including earthwork, asphalt, concrete, steel, MOT, safety devices, and utilities.
• Measure, record, and maintain contract quantities for payment.
• Read and interpret project plans, specifications, and standards.
• Conduct material sampling and testing as per project standards.
• Ensure work and materials meet standards and specifications.
• Document daily progress, nonconformance issues, workforce, equipment, and contract quantities.
• Record project data in Word, Excel, SiteManager, LIMS, or other software.
• Identify and communicate project issues and unsafe conditions to managers and contractors.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree or higher in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields preferred.
• Experience with KYTC or other DOT inspections preferred.
• Certifications: ACI Field Testing Technician Level I, KYTC Aggregate Sampling Technician, Asphalt Paving, Structural Inspection Level I, KEPSC-RI, or ability to obtain.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; basic computer skills required.
• OSHA 10 or ability to obtain.
