Job summary

Techno is seeking a Construction Inspector to support a high-profile underground utility and infrastructure project in the Baltimore area. This role focuses on inspecting sewer line installations, monitoring contractor performance, and producing thorough daily reports while coordinating with project managers and engineers.

Qualified candidates will have strong safety knowledge, experience reading drawings and specs, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital field reporting tools.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of construction inspection experience.
• Experience inspecting underground utility installations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs and contract docs.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• OSHA safety knowledge and site safety practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital field reporting tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience with municipal infrastructure projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect sewer line installation and related utility construction activities.
• Monitor contractor performance and verify compliance with project plans, specs, and applicable standards.
• Document daily construction activities, site conditions, workforce, equipment, and quantities installed.
• Identify, document, and communicate construction deficiencies or non-conforming work.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to support project progress.
• Review excavation operations, trench safety measures, utility installations, and site restoration activities.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Attend project meetings and provide updates regarding construction progress, quality, and safety observations.
