WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Construction Inspector Trainee position based in Raleigh, NC. Be involved in projects with our Construction Management team and contribute to a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves challenges.

Your Responsibilities

1. Examine and interpret construction plans, schedules, and quantities.
2. Support senior project inspectors in construction inspection, surveying, and material sampling and testing.
3. Verify that work is performed safely and according to plans and specifications.
4. Perform various tests and data analysis in the field.
5. Adhere to ethical standards and company policies.
6. Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and training. Engineering Interns may be eligible without experience.
• Ability to obtain certifications such as NCDOT Concrete Field Technician, Density, Erosion & Sediment Control, QMS Roadway Technician, and ABC/Borrow Pit Sampling within 90 days.
• Ability to read construction plans and keep accurate records.
• Understanding of construction inspection principles and relevant codes.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Basic computer skills and physical ability to perform inspection activities.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.
• Flexibility to work beyond typical hours and travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in a related discipline is preferred.
