The Design Division is vital in constructing new facilities and infrastructure, as well as modernizing existing ones. Our team comprises professionals in architecture, interior design, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and construction engineering. Our projects include public buildings, parks, streetscapes, coastal and waterfront structures, and iconic regional landmarks. Upcoming projects involve renovations to Chrysler Hall, expansion of Scope Arena, enhancements to Half Moone Cruise Terminal, new facilities like Maury High School, a Recreation/Library Center, East Bute Street Parking Garage, Norfolk Animal Care Facility, and a Public Safety Facility, along with bridge, waterfront, parks, and streetscape improvements.
We are seeking a Construction Inspector II to join our construction management team. This role involves observing, inspecting, and documenting construction activities on capital improvement projects to ensure quality and compliance. Responsibilities include site visits, daily inspection reports, plan and specification adherence, reviewing submittals and payment applications, participating in progress meetings, and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Qualifications include at least six months to one year of vocational or technical training, with appropriate certifications preferred. Candidates should have two years of experience in a construction-related field, preferably in commercial building construction, and the ability to interpret construction plans.
This position offers a one-time signing bonus of $5,000.
