Position Information
TxDOT's Houston District is seeking a Construction Inspector I for our Fort Bend/Waller Area Office located in Rosenberg, Texas. This position will be responsible for monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications. You will oversee a range of projects, from small preventative maintenance to major highway reconstruction. Minimum: $45,521.00
Maximum: $71,055.00

Inspects construction methods and workmanship to ensure compliance with plans and specifications; acts as a consultant on work progress and problem resolution; may serve as the sole inspector or assist on large projects; reports to a licensed professional engineer; interacts with contractors; may perform materials testing and manufacturing inspections. Follows standard practices with minimal supervision.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: None required; can be satisfied by full or part-time work. College education or technical training may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license; ability to drive a state vehicle.
