Crew Member - Commercial Grounds Maintenance

The responsibilities of the Landscaping Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the Foreman in training on all aspects of landscape grounds management services.
- Perform tasks such as digging, planting, raking, watering, and landscape clean-up.
- Load and unload heavy equipment and planting materials from trucks.
- Collect company-owned equipment and tools at the end of each day.
- Assist in other divisions such as installation or floriculture as needed.
- Help with snow removal during winter months.
Safe operation of the following landscaping equipment:
- Zero-Turn Mowers (stand-on, walk-behind, and riding)
- Tills, aerators, slit seeders, wheel tractors (occasionally)
- Edgers, string trimmers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers
- Backpack sprayers and blowers
- Hand tools like shovels, picks, rakes, and pruning tools
Pay: $16-$18 per hour

Required Skills and Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely.
- Ability to bend and stoop regularly.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work around environmental risks such as bees, poison ivy, pollen, and thorns.
- Wear work boots, uniforms, and maintain a professional appearance.
- Practice safety with chemicals and equipment; wear provided eye and ear protection as required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to motivate others.
- Willingness to obtain a NC pesticide applicator's license.
- Valid NC Driver's license and a good driving record preferred.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Compliance with Bland's policies and procedures.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of construction practices, techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Understanding of engineering plans, specifications, and drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reports and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, detect errors, and coordinate with contractors and property owners.
- Capability to perform installation tasks and take field measurements.
- Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
- Understanding of safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate levels and understand grades and elevations.
- Proficiency with computers and related software.
