Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks capable individuals for Construction Inspector roles in District 61, Unit 236/East Baton Rouge Parish. The job supports professional engineers and inspectors, requiring flexibility for night/evening/weekend shifts and exposure to challenging weather or conditions.

Appointment may be Probational or Promotional across Construction Inspector 1–4 levels, with hourly wages from $14.98 to $22.47 plus a $2 premium per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or six months of sub-professional engineering/related experience.
• Ability to interpret department procedures, policies, standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work and process related documents such as field diaries and estimates.
• Serve as primary construction inspector in assigned areas and verify elevations/alignments.
• Review haul tickets for compliance and prepare reports and calculations.
• Enter project data into SiteManager and LIMS databases.
• Attend preconstruction and progress meetings as assigned.
