Job summary

HDR is hiring a Construction Inspector to support the Florida CEI program at Crystal River project sites. You will conduct field observations, read drawings, and collaborate with Project Managers to ensure safe, high-quality construction of roads, bridges, and utilities.

The role emphasizes independent field work, team coaching, and adherence to HDR’s employee-owned culture and safety policies. Florida-based candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; substitution with 8 years of construction inspection experience allowed.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant inspection experience.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture; adherence to policy on drug and alcohol use.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction progress on civil infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, water facilities, pumps, pipelines).
• Collaborate with field staff and Project Managers to ensure quality and compliance.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specs; identify discrepancies.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced field staff as needed.
• Support final estimate preparation and field operations as required.
