Job summary

WSP is seeking a Construction Inspector to oversee road, bridge, or related construction projects valued at $1–$50 million. The position may be based in Portland, Augusta or Eliot, Maine, or Merrimack, New Hampshire.

The role involves interfacing with contractor supervisors, documenting daily progress, and coordinating material sampling, testing, and traffic management. Proficiency with Bluebeam and construction software is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • 5 years of applicable experience.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn how to read plans and specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Uphold workplace safety and policies.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Job description

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
  • Average proficiency with MS Word Suite.
  • Hands‑on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems; knowledge of Bluebeam.
  • ACI, NETTCP certification or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring.
  • Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered.
