Job Description

This opportunity involves a Full-Time Construction Inspector position based in Antioch, California. Other considered locations include San Francisco and San Jose. You will work with our PMCM team on various projects, contributing to a growing organization that meets client objectives and addresses challenges. WSP has offices across multiple California locations including Antioch, Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, Roseville, and Stockton.

Your Impact
  1. Read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  2. Monitor construction activities for compliance with project documents.
  3. Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials according to client policies.
  4. Inspect road and bridge construction based on Caltrans Standards.
  5. Review and approve traffic control systems, including lane closures, per Caltrans standards.
  6. Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
  7. Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • At least 5 years of relevant post-education experience in construction inspection.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of construction inspection principles and practices.
  • Certification as a Grouting Technician by the American Segmental Bridge Institute (ASBI).
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical skills for decision-making.
  • Proficiency with technical writing and office software.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.
  • Flexibility to work schedules beyond the typical workweek and occasional travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in a related discipline.
  • Additional coursework in engineering, surveying, or related fields.
  • Essential professional licensure or certification.
Compensation and Benefits

WSP offers comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and retirement plans. The expected salary range is $65/hr - $85/hr, with potential increases for work covered by California’s Prevailing Wage laws or other applicable laws.
